This was identified to be a problem between the Teradata DBS 14.10.xx and the 14.10 ODBC driver for Teradata where column information returned was being truncated. A workaround is to use Release 14.00 of the ODBC Driver for Teradata if possible, but generally all TTU components should be changed as group to assure compatibility.
