Why would you use OLELoad to load data from a flat file into Teradata when we have our standard load/unload products that are much faster?

MultiLoad instead of FastLoad - response (3) by ashikmh

Hi Dieter,
In our site, we are using a Stream operater in TPT, which is  like very slow becuase it uses ODBC connection.
The reason why development team are using it becuase, they want to do both insert and update in 2 instance of the same job.
Now my questions is, can we use update operater in TPT, which will use Multiload for this purpose.
-Thanks

Teradata export to DB2 using TPT - response (2) by KS42982

OLELOAD has that option. I am able to export to DB2 using it, I use ODBC connection and it fast exports it to DB2 tables. However, in TPT, I do not see that option. To export, I see only to either teradata tables or a file.

Install both 32 and 64 drivers on64 bit operating system? - forum topic by akasarla

Hi am planning to upgrade teradata client on a microstrategy 64 bit linux server. I am confused if I have to install just 64bit tools or even 32 bit utilities as well?
utilities like Bteq, fastload, multiload come in 32 bit package and not in a 64 bit package. Please suggest what utilities I really need to install?

Define new DB2 ODBC data source on TD SQL Assistant 13.11 - forum topic by dilipnair

I am trying (but unable) to create a new DB2 data source via the 'Define ODBC Data Source' option under Tools in Teradata SQL Assistant 13.11
Under the 'User DSN' tab (or 'System DSN' tab), I click on "Add", and select the 'IBM DB2 ODBC Driver' and click "Finish".
The 'ODBC IBM DB2 Driver - Add' window opens. The description says - "Select the DB2 Database alias you want to register for ODBC, or select Add to create a new alias. You may change the data source name and description, or accept the default"
My problem is - The 'Database alias' field is a dropdown and does not show any names (its blank). Nor do I see any Add button to add a new one. Even if I put my server/host name in the 'Data source name' field, the 'OK' button remains disabled.
I know the server/host name, port, ID and password to connect to the DB2 database, but not able to put those in to the SQL assistant via a data source connection.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

The Stream operator does NOT use ODBC.
The Update operator is part of TPT, so the answer to your first question is yes.

The IBM DB2 driver is dependent on IBM's native CLI driver. Before you can create an ODBC DSN, the corresponding CLI configuration must be "cataloged".
Easiest solution is to use the IBM client Configuration Assistant tool (usually found at ...\SQLLIB\BIN\db2ca.bat) to configure both CLI and ODBC.

Team, we are in the process of converting many SAS programs over to Teradata stored procedures.  My problem is that we have several programs in SAS that are calling a Pearl script…  can we call a Pearl script in Stored procedures or in UDF’s we have Teradata V13.  would it be possable to provide an example. (one will do).

team, this is some what of a rush..  :)

Hi,
I download the 'Windows Help' file for '.NET Data Provider 14.10.00.00' at
http://downloads.teradata.com/download/connectivity/dot-net-data-provider

The downloaded file 'tdnetdp__windows_indep.14.10.00.00_help.chm' is 7MB,
however when I open the .chm file, I can see the Index but not the contents
The content pane says 'Navigation to the webpage was canceled'

Thanks,
-srinivas y.

BTEQ not remove trailing blank - forum topic by PeterSchwennesen

When I run a macro in the Teradata SQL Assistant in Export Result mode, I get a file content  that looks like this:
123____2344__23455____
123____2344__23455____
Etc.
The point here is that each line must have the same length, and the “_” represent spaces.
But if I run the same macro from BTEQ:
.LOGON xxx
.Format OFF
.SET WIDTH 500
.EXPORT report file = WEEK39.txt
 EXEC POSCN_A_P.Ma_Macro(24);
.Export Reset
.LOGOFF
.EXIT
I get the following result:
123____2344__23455
123____2344__23455
Etc.
Where the trailing blanks has been removed. How do I prevent the trailing blanks from being removed when running the macro in a BTEQ?
