fastload insertion - response (5) by cristi_1981
fastload insertion - response (7) by feinholz
The message is "RDBMS", meaning it came from Teradata.
It is not a TPT error.
You have introduced syntax that is not allowed by Teradata for the FastLoad protocol.
You will have to switch to a different operator.
Try the Update operator.
fastload insertion - response (8) by cristi_1981
Thank you, Steven. Using UPDATE operator I was able to finish successfully the TPT operation.
Keeping idle connections alive! - response (2) by barani_sachin
Thanks Dieter for u r prompt response.
i could have stated better.
Yes the setting in the server is such that they will disconnect idle sessions(idle for 3 minutes).
Is there by any mechanism we can overcome this in SQLA, instead of connecting again and again and losing any data in the VT's?
In Putty and all we have an option to send send alive packets to keep the connection alive with the unix servers.

Please suggest the ways to resolve it...
FastLoad AXSMOD invoke error - response (1) by SuSeSi
Try following things:
1) add the axsmod location in path variable and do not include "./" in script.
2) piom is responsible to communicate between fastload and axsmod. Check if you have correct version of piom installed.
3) Check the permission of the axsmod file for the user with which fastload program is executed.
Installing the TTU 14.10 on windows - response (1) by SuSeSi
TTU_Base.exe is the program which can be used for all of the fastload/bteq/fastexport etc. You will be prompted with product to choose in a menu.
Note that when you install with TTU_Base.exe, you only will have one entry in add/remove program.
If you want to install individual packages separately then you can brawse and install.

Teradata SQL Assistant - Database Explorer Window - response (3) by mddcva
I am having the same issue with Teradata 13.11.0.06. The database explorer window is completely fixed and can't be unpinned, hidden, or resized. I was able to adjust the size to accommodate longer table names in the past with no issues, now I must scroll left/right constantly. I know at least one other co-worker facing the same problem. This is very frustrating, looking desperately for a fix. Please advise.

TPT load source files with regular expression - response (4) by wm185023
Thanks Feinholz, we found another alternative solution with using FileList attribute of DataConnector operator and use Shell script to generate the list of real file name from the regular expression.
But I got a problem when include full path together with the file name in the list of file. TPT return error message said file not found.
TPT_DATACONNECTOR_OPERATOR: TPT19404 pmOpen failed. Requested file not found (4)
If I remove full path from the list of file name and run TPT in the same path as data file, TPT will run successfully.
I do not understand what is wrong when I defined the full path (I test with VMWare, TPT run on Window) as below in the list of file name. Could you please give me an advice how to correct it.
TPT_DATA_FILE_LIST.txt
E:\90_Temp\Test_Name\TPT_DATA_01.dat
E:\90_Temp\Test_Name\TPT_DATA_02.dat

No, I did not see this before.
BTW, have you specified both GENERATED ALWAYS and NO CYCLE? How many rows were you loading? Thanks!
Teradata SQL Assistant - Database Explorer Window - response (4) by MikeDempsey
It sounds like the config file for the tool window(s) has been corrupted.
Try deleting DBTree.config or DockMgr.config (depending on which version you are using now).
These will be in:
c:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Teradata\SQL Assistant
or
C:\Users\<username>\Roaming\AppData\Teradata\SQL Assistant
Mload - identify the erroneous record using the sourcesequence in Informatica - response (1) by Ivyuan
Hi Cheeli,
Please refer to "Handling Teradata MultiLoad Errors" section in MultiLoad manual for further information, there is an example on how to determine the cause of errors:
http://www.info.teradata.com/templates/eSrchResults.cfm?prodline=&txtpid=&txtrelno=&txtttlkywrd
=TTU14.10&rdsort=Title&srtord=Asc&wNew=True&nm=Teradata+Tools+and+Utilities+14.10

I tried deleting DBTree.config and restart the application but that did not seem to work. The DB explorer window is still not able to be resized. Are there any other steps I can try?

Problem with Teradata Query Schedular email notification - forum topic by kerrg
Has anybody got the email notification to work using CAM on viewpoint and Teradata Notification Services.
i have followed all the instructions to install TQS and Teradata Notification Services on a Windows 2008 server. Both services are running fine with no errors in logs. I schedule a query and it runs fine but no emails.
I can see details in the Alert logs on my viewpoint server where the windows server has sent some details but nothing about emails.

Regarding Temporary Space - response (16) by Shelley
If you allocate 10GB of perm space to the user that means they can use up to 10 GB of space for storing data on your system .
Spool is different, it does not pre-allocate space for the user. It is a thresholdlimit that the user is allowed to use if there is available free space on the system. Available space comes from unused perm and is temporary in nature. That means that the spool is only used for the query that is running and then released as it is no longer needed.
If you have a lot of users running queries with the same spool limit , they could use up all the available spool and your current user may not be able to get the 20GB requested, possibly causing the job to fail.
This makes it important to understand what the users will be running when you allocate spool to them.

TPT script to move data from table to file - response (9) by atulkumarsharma
Hi Experts
Can u please post a TPT script to load a teradata table in target environment from two or more source table from source environment.
Hello,
I have encountered the same problem while trying to insert values in the table TB_AGR_PAT_MOB_GRP:
STEP LOAD_EXP_TABLE (
APPLY (
'INSERT INTO ' || @DB_SCI_STG ||'.TB_AGR_PAT_MOB_GRP
(
ANNEE
,MOIS
,DAT_ARR_FIC
,IDDIIP
,TYPGRP
,MTDSGE
,MTVBFO
,MTASGE
,MTTAVC
,MTTNSG
,TYP_SG
)
VALUES
(
' || @ANNEE ||
',' || @MOIS ||
',' || '''' || @DAT_ARR_FIC || '''' ||
',:IDDIIP
,:TYPGRP
,:MTDSGE/100
,:MTVBFO/100
,:MTASGE/100
,:MTTAVC/100
,:MTTNSG/100
,:TYP_SG
);'
)
The TPT output was:
Teradata Parallel Transporter Version 14.00.00.03
Job log: /opt/teradata/client/14.00/tbuild/logs/x121408-765.out
Job id is x121408-765, running on dmut3
Found CheckPoint file: /opt/teradata/client/14.00/tbuild/checkpoint/x121408LVCP
This is a restart job; it restarts at step LOAD_EXP_TABLE.

It seems that TPT does not allow operations like :MTDSGE/100 in the value list. Do you have a solution on this matter, please?
Thank you.
